Topic: How I quit taking painkillers
I have found an all natural way to quit painkillers. It has changed (and quite possibly saved) my life, so I’m compelled to share my experience. Everyone is different, so I can’t make any promises but I’m more than six months clean and I really feel amazing. The beautiful thing is that I kicked my habit in just one long weekend.
First of all, lets not sugar coat it, quitting sucks, withdrawals are horrible, and you’re going to have to face that. I had previously tried to quit painkillers by taking Suboxone but it was like cutting off my head to cure a headache. The Suboxone would keep me off the toilet for a while and allow me to barely make it to work where my performance sucked and I felt miserable. I toiled away for two months, trying to stop taking it. I felt like it just postponed some of my withdrawal symptoms, while I struggled along feeling like crap. That was, by far, the most horrible time of my life and unfortunately it lead to three more unhappy, draining months before I was back to abusing pain killers.
A short year later, my bank account was erased by my worsening addiction, I was depressed by my dependence on prescription drugs, and my long term health was in serious jeopardy. I had to quit.
While researching all natural alternatives for quitting painkillers, I came across something called the “Thomas Recipe”. Basically it’s a combination of Valium, Imodium, and an assortment of various vitamins & minerals, along with some quality advice. The method seemed sound to me and I was excited to try it, but to be honest, I felt like I was going to need more than vitamins to get me through this. Reluctant to use any more pharmaceuticals I began shopping around for all natural supplements. A friend had given me a couple pills of an energy/weightloss supplement called Zylene 1.1, which he had been taking for a while and swore by it’s effectiveness in regards to energy (little did he know I was popping PKs for my own kick in the ass). Personally, I believe that everything happens for a reason, or in other words I don’t believe in coincidence. Never had this belief been more apparent than while reading about Zylene online at this website.
While browsing the site, I came across a page titled “Health & Wellness” which listed some of the other products offered by the manufacturer. Suddenly I had an epiphany- it was like the universe had just sent me the answer I had been so desperately seeking. Although they made no claim to do so, I read the product descriptions and it seemed like every product on the page was specifically made for opiate withdrawal. Obviously, I’m no doctor, but since I knew firsthand what to expect from withdrawals- this just seemed to make a hell of a lot of sense. There were a total of 7 or 8 products on the page I was looking at and they could all be purchased together for around 300 bucks. There were two kinds of detoxifying supplements, two multivitamins, Zylene 1.1 for energy, an all natural sleep aid, and an all natural Xanex. I thought to myself- for $300 this shit is worth a try. I also read there was a 60 day money back guarantee so I figured- what the hell…
With a holiday weekend and an extra day off coming, I decided that on Friday I would be taking my last Roxicet. I was going to quit. I took great pleasure on Friday night in tossing all of my remaining pills into a lake. The most important thing is that you’re definitive. You have to be determined, and know that you can kick this thing! If you go into it half assed then you’ll be off the wagon in no time.
I took the cleansing, detoxifying products, Cyto Catch, and Cyto Clear, along with the Nutravex multivitamin (morning) and Biozyte minerals (evening) on Friday and throughout the process. I started the Zanexis (basically an all natural Xanex) on Saturday when withdrawals began and REM Sleep (surprisingly effective natural sleep aid) at night to help me keep my eyes closed. Use Immodium for faucet ass (if you must) but your body is trying, through sickness, to cleanse itself- So let it! Drink lots of water, try to watch movies, (if you can- exercise) or at least find something to distract you from your suffering.
Keep two things in mind. First, you are going to make it! Stay positive, this is a necessary evil and you WILL get better. Second, harness this horrible feeling and store it in the back of your mind. Painkillers have done this to you and it’s not natural. Holding on to this feeling for the rest of your life will prevent you from ever wanting to take a painkiller again!
Saturday and Sunday were rough but determination goes a long way. Monday morning, before my head came off the pillow, I decided to myself “I am going to feel better today.” I got up and took Zylene 1.1 (similar to but better than ephedrine) along with the other supplements and took a bath. I got the hell out of the house and took a long meditative walk through the park. My sweats had subsided, the Zylene had given me energy and I was proud of myself because I knew at that moment- I had kicked it. Getting your life back is a major accomplishment, that most people will never experience, so enjoy it! If you are dealing with pain, try going to a chiropractor, or treat yourself to a massage. Spoil yourself for a few weeks with the extra money that would otherwise have been spent on painkillers. Personally I’ve stuck with the supplements (so yeah, I’m still “popping pills”) but I have lost fifteen lbs and feel better than ever.
This is my story and I hope that it’s been helpful. If it takes you more than three days, just remain diligently committed to quitting and you’ll be fine. Your mind set is your best asset. You really can quit and I wish you the best of luck!
Sincerely,
Jake
